Hi everyone
Happy New Year and what a wet and soggy one it has been! As I type the wind is roaring away outside, but I am in front of the log burner cosy and warm and so grateful that our home is safe, compared to the many who have suffered the effects of flooding and loss of things that are precious to them. It really does make me count my blessings.
I am finishing off my posts of Christmas cards today. These cards were made for some of my special crafty friends and I did a variety of ink shaded colour ways. The trees and sentiment are from the Stampin Up Wonderland set which I really love.
I stamped the trees in different colours of Stampin Up ink, to get layers of depth. The moon was masked and Distress Inks added to build up the scene. The middle design actually uses a moon stamp I have had ages and has an additional flourish stamp added. The darker designs have tiny pin pricks of stars added with a white gel pen. The cards are mounted onto 5 x 7 black card bases.
I have made some sort of resolutions for the new year. More of that in due course. I am allowing myself to finish my lazy Christmas and New Year break for a couple more days and plan to get back into a more productive routine on Monday. In the meantime, it is crochet and feet up in front of an episode of Escape to the Country!
Hope you are enjoying your day whatever you are up to!

Beautiful cards, the inking is fantastic. Happy New Year, wishing you all the best in 2016! Hugs, Shirleyxx
ReplyDeleteThese designs are very much your forté & I like how different they are despite being basically the same design. Your additional pin prick stars are a lovely touch whilst the variations of colour in each colour way of trees adds lovely interest.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards my friend, a lovely design, and I count myself very lucky to have been the recipient of one of them. I am definitely going to have to take a leaf out of your book and be more organised this year! Judith xx
ReplyDeleteLovely cards Elaine! The colors are beautiful. We, too, have had torrential rains. Now it suddenly is very cold. Keep cozy by your fire : )
