I have been working with the new Chocolate Baroque Artist's Bauble set of stamps. As well as the baubles, this set also includes a cross, some corners and a classic motif. The cross is useful for sympathy cards and for Easter too. Here is a sumpathy card I made, with the addition of a little splash of yellow. I think I was feeling inspired by spring finally blossoming when I was making this card.
I stamped the cross in black Versafine. I recently treated myself to the Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles set when I went to Ally Pally. I stamped the sentiment from the CB With Sympathy set and then used one of the dies to frame it, inking with Memento London Fog before taking it out of the die. I cut one of the other dies out of black card to mount the sentiment. I finished off with a selection of flowers in shades of white, lemon and yellow, including the daisies, one of which was added to the centre of the cross.
Thanks for popping by! Hope you have had a good week.

Obviously for many different reasons, 'With Sympathy' are difficult cards to make...but I think this is very elegant.
ReplyDeleteHave a good bank holiday weekend Elaine x
Beautiful card so suitable for the occasion. Spring seems to have disappeared from here again - wintry couple of days, really cold!!
ReplyDeleteHello Elaine!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card..the flowers are so uplifting.
I have those Dies. and the one you have chosen for this card is so delicate, but beautiful!

This is such a beauty - so classy & elegant to say what is needed. The combination of the stamped cross combined with the daisy embellishing to accentuate precisely the petals of that circular cross-piece is a beautiful touch. The pale green pearls add that little bit of something which is far greater in total than the liitle pearl itself - as do those tinny green petals. This is just very very satisfying somehow aesthetically.
ReplyDeleteChange the sentiment & you'd have a terrific confirmation, christening or ordination/first communion card too.

Beautiful Elaine, the spellbinder frame sets off the sentiment so well and the yellow adds a great pop of colour. Have a fabulous weekend, Shirleyxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, and a pleasant change from the more sombre ones.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful card Elaine. The black and white is warmed up in such a lovely way with the warm yellows. The sentiment is very good too.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend : )
Hugs,
Terri
A lovely card Elaine, the Spellbinders die goes so well with the cross, and makes for a very elegant card. The yellow flowers soften the overall finish beautifully, and the flower in the centre of the cross is a really nice touch.
