Spring is in the air over at Chocolate Baroque where new stamps have been launched this week. I have been playing with a new set Spring Foliage.
This is a simple ink shaded white die cut circle, I masked off the sun and hills, shaded with DIs and Adirondack dye inks and overstamped with the silhouette pussy willow stamp in different colours of versafine and archival ink. The circle was mounted onto the kraft base card which I had embossed with the sentiment in copper EP. I finished off with a K & Co butterfly embellishment.
There are signs of spring in the garden with snowdrops, primroses and daffs out already and I am busy looking at seed websites to order my veg seeds to plan for the new season in the veg patch. Always a great way to pass a chilly winter evening

love that circle of colour on the kraft card stock
ReplyDeleteAn absolute stunner - I'd never have thought of those colours on the kraft but it's a real gem with the white circular border. I especially love the way the butterfly is placed crossing the border PLUS the sun. Lovely movement from the butterfly's wing across the sun to the birds' wings.
ReplyDeleteDaffs emerging in our woodland & one very lonely yellow crocus.

ReplyDeleteI can tell I've not been online much to miss this little beauty Elaine. I hadn't even seen those stamps till today. I have to say they are calling to me, lol, especially when I see your lovely cards. The colours are lovely and its such a beautiful little scene. Oh roll on Spring because today has been utterly miserable here. I've been up since 6 and it hasn't stopped raining once so your little bit of sunshine is more than welcome.

Hi Elaine, I loved this card as soon as I first saw it. Your lovely inky circle of colour just shines out on the Kraft beckground, which sets it off perfectly. The blend of colours is just gorgeous. The multiple stamping of the pussy willow looks so effective in the foreground.Judith xx
