This last week has seen the birthday of my lovely crafty friend Lesley. This is the card I made for her.
I know Lesley likes green so that started my thinking. I used the lovely Webster's Pages paper as a background, added a strip of 7 Gypsies conservatory paper and then added some stamping. I used the Inkylicious stamp Juliana face, inked with sepia Versafine, adding a little coloured pencil highlighting and matted onto more 7 Gypsies paper. The sentiment is the lovely Stampotique Secret Garden Stamp from Jo Capper Sandon as available from Happy Daze. The finishing touch was a Vintaj butterfly as I know Lesley loves them.
Looking forward to some time in my secret garden this weekend, the weather forecast is looking quite promising and goodness knows we all need some sunshine right now.

Striking use of the patterned paper & I love that butterfly. The browns complement the colours of the paper & the sense of someone looking out of a window into a garden scene is strikingly portrayed.

ReplyDeleteEveryone, you are so right .......... I am thrilled with this beautiful card. All the elements and colours are gorgeous and yes Elaine, that butterfly is the 'icing on the cake' so to speak. Beautifully thought out card my friend and so lovely to stroke! It will be treasured most definitely and I hope to have time to photograph and blog the several handmade cards I received next weekend (DT stuff this week).

ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely card Elaine, with some delightful elements. The papers are lovely, and the Vintaj butterfly looks beautiful on there. That face stamp is one I'm very fond of, as you know, and I have that sentiment as well, it's such a lovely saying. It's a brilliant compilation, as always. Judith xx
