Is it springing?

Nature seems to have got the idea it is spring round here which is a little crazy. There are primroses and daffodils in flower, catkins are bursting forth, although the snowdrops seem a little reluctant. I even saw a magnolia tree in flower at New Year and the birds are singing their heads off.

We have had some amazing sunsets and with the last few clear nights it has been light when I have left work which is heartening. This morning though, we had the most incredible frost. It lifted quickly and I only got a couple of pics of these frosty topped teasels when I dashed outside in my slippers with the camera!! I love teasels they are so architectural.

To celebrate the hope of spring at least here is a card I made quite a while ago with some lovely stamps from Chocolate Baroque. Anyone who knows me well knows I adore rabbits, we have had some very special pet buns, but every year we manage to get one or two wild ones to hand feed from us in the garden which feels very special.

I used a little wooden heart and some lovely paper daises to add a little extra. I shaded using my favourite Adirondacks. Sorry if I have shared this one before.

Looking forward to spring really springing!

Hope you are having a good weekend.

  1. Gorgeous card and beautiful photos Elaine.
Weather is certainly a bit strange - I think today's frost(first real one this winter) may have finally finished off my geraniums out by my back door, been in flower since June!!

  3. Well, I don't know if you've shared the card on here before Elaine but of course, I've seen it irl and it is gorgeous! I love the way you've used those pretty stamps and the heart and daisies were just the right finishing touches.

Love your pics too, especially the teasels. Although we had some wonderful bright sunshine here today it barely got above freezing and a good part of our garden stayed white over all day. It is now totally thick with frost again. It does look pretty and sparkly now it's dark.

  4. Your teasels look amazing with the frost - we had a spider's web which I managed to catch with the camera. I know what you mean about the sunsets - we seem to have a new painting every night. Love the blue & muave tones in your photo.
that's quite a feat getting the rabbits to feed from your hand. I love your silhouettes with the daisies & shall have to go investigate that stamp set. Another one to go on the wish list.

  5. Hello Elaine, yes, as both our posts are saying, the weather is very odd....I am wondering how the rest of winter will go?
Your bunny card is really special. The stamped bunnies are lovely and your layers and embellishments too are fabulous on it! The wooden heart is perfect there!

  6. Glorious photos Elaine. We are having some very frosty mornings here too, I think the new plants are going to suffer. I too have seen your beautiful card before, the colours are stunning, just perfect for the coming season. Keep warm, hugs Judith xx
