I had to make a card for our young male apprentice at work who was leaving us. Never an easy task! This is what I came up with.
The Tim Holtz dragonfly stamp is so useful for male cards I feel because of the added lines like an architects drawing it seems less girly somehow! I coloured the image with my Peerless watercolour paints. I still can't get over their usefulness - all that colour in such a compact form. I splatted on some watered down Vintage Photo DI ink and then shaded the edges with Stormy Sky DI.
I die cut some dictionary paper with my new Stampin' Up Banner dies (I know these are going to get many outings). I actually chose the page that said journey on it. I overlaid that with some vellum so I could stamp the sentiment which comes from the same Woodware stamp I used on my little girl card a couple of posts ago. I finished off with two wooden scrabble tiles and a die cut "Happy" using an Avery Elle die. Looking at it now, maybe I should have straightened up the "h" in happy a bit more, but never mind!
I am looking forward to an unstructured bank holiday weekend with no real commitments, which feels like bliss! Have a fun one yourselves!

Your Peerless coloured dragonfly with the Vintage Photo splatters is superbly effective especially with the Stormy Sky shading around it. I especially like your attention to detail with that Banner - the way you used the vellum over the top & also used the page with 'journey' on it. It's these little details that all contribute to the success of the whole. The scrabble tiles pick up the brown ink splatters nicely & add a sense of warmth.

Hi lovely friend! What a perfect card for the young man. Wherever he goes on to work he'll never get another gorgeous card like that! I love that dragonfly image and wanted it for so long. I've had it for several months now and ...........it's still uninked!!! Disgraceful! Great composition too.
