Some time back I bought the Flying Goose die from Memory Box. I felt it was about time I used it.
I made a background using my leafy background technique, although I must confess I made it rather too dark to appreciate the pattern. Never mind! I added a sun with the sentiment from Inkylicious and a couple of bird stamps, one Tim Holtz and the other I think may be Lavinia. Finally I added the goose and mounted the whole thing on a black card blank.
Just a quick post today!
Thanks for popping in!

This looks super - the sky really does look like that at times & I love your placing of that goose with the sentiment. Terrific with the birds in the background too. I actually think the heavy inking words here for you've got a very realistic sky just because of the indistinct leaf edges!

I agree with Paula about the realistic sky Elaine and the leafy background is still so effective, perhaps more so for being indestinct in this case. That's a lovely die I've not seen before and you really have used it well on this beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteNot long now my friend ;D!

wonderful sky....looks very moody.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful background that created a great sky! The die cut Goose looks great in black with the other bird stamps and the sentiment is perfect. Take care, Shirleyxx
ReplyDeleteGreat dreamy card!
ReplyDeleteSorry to go offtopic, but I couldn't find a search box to find your post about the cuttlebug plates in the oven (I did find it on interest / imgur but can't comment there). First again, thank you for the tutorial!
Then some questions: Do you remember on what temperature you set the oven, and how long it was in there?
I've got it in the oven at about 125 degrees Celsius now, and poured boiling water in the bowl on top as I don't have enough fitting bowls.
What timeframe should I think of? 10 minutes or 30?
greetings,
Debbie / Daqa.
Ah my comment did come through, I was hoping it didn't as I reread your tutorial again (and again) and then saw the temperature and time settings!
ReplyDeletePlates came out flat, thought the grooves were still there, I guess then I'd have to turn the heat up to "melt" temperature instead of "deform" temperature, and I don't think my oven can handle that!
Your cards for chocolate baroque which I see because of my subscription are beautiful - you and the other design team members are certainly a reason I buy so much from CB!
Very pretty design.

This is totally gorgeous!! Love the colours and the combination of those lovely stamps with that die (one I have never seen before...) it looks fabulous set against that glowing sun!
ReplyDeleteThank you much for your kind comments on my posts, I take it from Lesley that the two of you are staying in a B&B close by, so I really look forward to meeting you on Saturday!!! I am intrigued by your leafy background technique too, it looks amazing!
A beautiful card Elaine in stunning colours. Love that die, I haven't see it before either, and it goes really well with the stamps. Hugs, Judith xx
ReplyDeleteFantastic card Elaine, love the goose positioned over the moon and such a realistic sky.
