I stamped the image in black archival ink and then sponged Spun Sugar distress ink and then Pink Sherbert Adirondack dye ink across the whole card with cut n' dry foam. I then used a mask, flower frenzy template also available from Imagination and used another Adirondack dye ink - in raspberry I think - to pick out the pattern all over the card avoiding the face. I shaded the edges and corners with wild plum ink and I think a tiny touch of Eggplant.
I mounted the panel onto an 8 x 8 card blank, added the sparkly butterflies, this time a more subtle white and added some tiny silver dots in each corner.
This card came together in less than an hour and I was really pleased with the end result, even if I do say so myself!
Have a great crafty weekend!

This card is beautiful Elaine. Love all the pretty butterflies and that little girl image is just gorgeous. The mask you have used is really pretty too.

ReplyDeleteThis is lovely - the sponging really brings out the face - I think that little girl is so sweet. A face that is just so memorable.

This is such a pretty card Elaine, really lovely colours. You know how much I love this stamp! That mask works so well, psychedelic, but in a soft and gentle way. The butterflies look lovely in white, just the right note with those pretty plummy colours. I'm sure the recipient loved it, Judith xx
ReplyDeleteLovely card with great effect using the inks and masking. did you make the butterflies?
